Last weekend Hannah Payton of the Kinesis Morvelo Project Race Team competed in Koppenberg Cross and Zonhoven, both UCI CI races.
The Koppenburg is close to where Hannah is living in Belgium and is a hugely popular event. Hannah told us that she enters big races like with little pressure and expectation on herself. Hannah’s still new to major international races like these and its nice to go into them with no pressure or striving for any particular result whilst she finds her feet at such a high level. Hannah finished 21st at Koppenberg Cross after taking a small tumble on the steep descent, but she was still very satisfied with her performance and raring to go for the next days race.
Zonhoven in the East of Belgium is again a classic Belgian Cyclocross event and is a very sandy course. Hannah told us “The course was an epic. Descending in deep sand takes skill and running up it is brutal. I finished zonhoven in 19th. A top 20 finish for me means it was a good day”

Hannah added that racing a double weekend isn’t something she’s used to yet, but that she’s getting there. Overall she was really happy with her weekend and said it was a fabulous experience.

Next weekend, Hannah will be racing in Germany, where she will be competing in the European Championships at Zorch.
We wish Hannah continued success and we’re thrilled to see Kinesis racing at this level in Europe.
