Most of Andrew’s riding is done on his winter bike, so he decided to upgrade the steed to a Kinesis Racelight GranFondo Titanium Disc. (GF_Ti).
TITANIUM DREAMS
I enjoy exploring different routes around Harrogate and also in Italy where I have a house. My summer bike is a Cervelo and I have a Willier, which I used as a winter bike. I tend to spent most of my time riding the winter bike in Yorkshire as it is more accommodating for the roads. I liked the idea of Titanium. Then when I was in Prologue one day I saw a Kinesis Gran Fondo made up for someone else. I fell in love with the workmanship and looks of the Kinesis Gran Fondo.
METICULOUS BUILD
I enjoyed the excuse I had for visiting the Prologue a lot before deciding what I wanted. The team helped specify what I required and worked to my budget. The frame came relatively quickly and the guys did a superb job of building it up. Their attention to detail is first rate. For my Kinesis Gran Fondo Ti Disc build I selected the Mavic Ksyrium Pro Disc wheel set, Shimano Ultegra Hydro Disc Group Set, Deda bars and stem, Kinesis Carbon seat post, Fizik Arione saddle and Endurance bar tape, SKS mudguards and titanium bottle cages.
NO BONESHAKING
I went out for a ‘shake-up ride’. Everything worked perfectly. I brought it back for them to make some slight adjustments to the saddle height for me. The Gran Fondo is a great all-round bike. It’s light, responsive and very comfy. There’s also no vibration from the road.
RULE #58
I don’t have any plans for events or trips yet, apart from just going out more to enjoy my new bike. I do think everyone should, where possible, shop local. The Prologue team are very helpful and I have the comfort to know if I have any problems they will deal with it.
