Kinesis Tech

Kinesium

The unique ‘Kinesium Alloy’ has been developed by Kinesis International, it’s a superb tubing for use in lightweight, high performance frames. We have used Kinesium in the construction of the following frames; Racelight KiC2, Racelight RC2, Racelight Tk, Crosslight Pro4 and Maxlight XCPro2. Kinesium is enhanced 6000 series Aluminium alloy, which is 25% stronger than 6061 at the same weight level, manufactured in house at the Kinesis factory, it gives fantastic value for money. Kinesium's properties make it an ideal material for a very light, tough, responsive frame at an affordable price. Kineisum's superior properties over other alloys allow for a much thinner wall thickness to be used, thereby dramatically reducing overall frame weight without compromising strength.

Tuned Carbon Wishbone

Most manufacturers are forced to use ‘off the shelf’ carbon components and stays for their frame construction. Because Kinesis design and make their own carbon stays, we can ‘tune’ the carbon lay-up to match the characteristics of the frame, this results in a great feeling, responsive, balanced and comfortable ride.

ULTRA SMOOTH WELD PROFILE TECHNOLOGY

Our hand built frames are joined using advanced ‘UltraSmoothWeldProfile’ technology, giving strong, stress free welds and a super clean appearance. This advanced welding technique is carried out without secondary finishing and sanding, so the weld bead and tubing are left at full strength.

EASTON RAD TAPERWALL

‘Easton RAD’ taperwall tubing was first developed for long travel suspension frames, it is now increasingly used to build strong but lightweight, long travel hardtails. We use the lighter weight ‘XC’ version of Eastons RAD tubing for our ‘Maxlight pha5e’ frame, allowing us to get the weight down to 1750g [14” frame]. The square front section of the tubes gives a huge weld area at the head tube and avoids the need for extra gussets.

EASTON ULTRALIGHT TAPERWALL

With unparalleled fatigue strength and superb ride characteristics, Easton UltraLite Taperwall is the highest performing lightweight tube set avaliable for road and off-road riding. Perfect for serious performance freaks, These are amongst the lightest aluminum tube sets you can buy. The ‘tapered butting’ gives a smooth transition between tubing wall thicknesses, avoiding any stress raisers in the tube wall and providing a superb ride quality.

Hand made

All our Kinesis UK frames are jigged, welded, bonded, painted and QC checked by hand. It takes longer to do it like this, but it is the only way that we can obtain the quality of manufacture that we demand.

Hydroforming

‘Hydroforming’ is an advanced forming process used to produce the sculpted tube shapes for frames such as our Racelight KiC2, Maxlight XC Pro2, Maxlight pha5e. The unformed tube is placed inside a specially machined former and hydraulic fluid is forced in under very high pressure, forming the tube shape very accurately. Unlike other manufacturers, who use hydroforming for purely visual effect, our Hydroformed tube shapes are designed to increase the effective strength of the frame by distributing stresses over a broad section of the tubes, instead of allowing them to be concentrated in small areas. The shapes also give a large area at crucial points like the BB and headtube, allowing maximum weld contact, stiffness and strength where it’s needed most. The Hydroformed gussets and multi-section tube shapes are achieved with virtually no weight penalty, as would be the case with traditional weld-on gussets.

HYPERFORMANCE

Why settle for ‘High Performance’, when you can buy a Kinesis ‘Hyperformance’ frameset?

UK Designed

All our ‘Kinesis UK’ frames are designed and rider tested in the UK, none of the frames you see here are simply bought ‘off the shelf’. We believe that designing our frames to suit the unique riding conditions and styles of the UK is of utmost importance, the Crosslight range, Racelight T and Tk and Maxlight pha5e frames are good examples of this philosophy. Because the frames are designed here at Kinesis UK, we can listen to team and rider feedback and respond quickly with tweaks, modifications or entirely new models.

5 Year Warranty

All our Kinesis UK frames carry a 5 Year warranty for manufacturing defects, we will also help out [at our discretion] if the frame is damaged as the result of a crash.

7005 DOUBLE BUTTED ALLOY

A tough, dependable but light weight tubing ideal for use in frames such as the ‘Racelight T’ and ‘Crosslight 3t’. The ‘double butting’ refers to the two tube wall thicknesses in each main tube, the ends are thicker than the centre section, allowing perfect welding whilst still retaining a lively and lightweight feel.

CARBON STRUTT SEAT STAYS

These super lightweight seat stays were developed specially for the 45cm Racelight RC2 frame. The slender profile of the carbon stays bonded into a special ‘crossbow’ brace keep things ultra responsive when you step on the pedals but retains enough compliance for comfort on longer rides and British roads!
