ALL CROSSLIGHT FRAMES

All of our Crosslight frames use 'Fully Integrated' 11/8" headsets, similar to Fig 1. We have found this type of Headset to be totally reliable in over 8yrs. of 'cross frame manufacture. Although it is important that the frame seat is lightly greased during assembly and that the headset is kept correctly tensioned during use.

This headset simply drops into a tapered seat in the headtube and is tensioned using a headset tensioner within the fork steerer tube. Tensioning the headset centers it on the taper and prevents any play.

Our headtubes are 45mm Outside Dia. [41.2 inner bore] for a bearing Dia. of 41mm. The angled seat in the frame is 45º, the internal angle of the bearing is 36º.

So...the headset must be 11/8", 36º/45º for a 45mm OD, Fully Integrated headtube.

Fig.2 Shows a headset specifically designed for Cyclocross. The cable hanger is part of the top cap, this helps to reduce the Stack-Height [low bars are good for the quick, short climbs encountered in 'cross]. The integrated hanger also helps to improve braking.
