MAXLIGHT XC2

This frame uses a conventional 11/8" MTB Headset, similar to Fig.1 in the picture above. This presses into the headtube.

MAXLIGHT XCPro2/MAXLIGHT XC120/MAXLIGHT KM-210L

All these frames use a 'Zero-Stack' Headset, Similar to Fig.2 above. Designed to press fit into a 50mm OD Headtube. Various 'stack heights' are available. I would advise keeping the height as low as poss. for most MTB use, although a bit more stack height may work well if you are looking for a more upright 'Leisure Riding' position.

SUSPENSION CROWN CLEARANCE

All our MTB frames are designed to current standards for clearance between fork crown and down tube. If you are using older suspension forks, things can get close or there may be contact with adjusters etc. It's really worth checking things by offering up the fork to the frame before you build and ride. If it's close, don't despair, you don't have to buy a new fork! Headsets like the one in Fig.3 can sort the problem. This Cane Creek model ['Cane Creek S3 Plus 5 Aheadset'], for standard 11/8" MTB, gives you 5mm extra clearance that should solve most problems.
