National Trophy, Round 1, Derby.

A short report from Round one of the British National Series.

The weekend went pretty well for Hannah at the first round of the National Trophy Cyclo Cross series. After a season on loan during the summer time to Bob Varney and the wonderful road team that is Drops. We now have Hannah back racing in the familiar blue and black of Team Kinesis UK.

Good races start with good breakfasts and full of porridge, Hannah set off to Derby for the first round of the national series, after a busy week at Uni. Hannah has recently started an intensive study course to become a Physio Therapist so is carrying her extensive road form across to the Cyclo cross season.

The course was fast but Hannah took the race by the horns from lap one and a group formed with Annie Simpson and Beth Crumpton. With 19psi in her team issue FMB tubs she had all the grip she needed.

The strong group of women increased their lead on chasers and took turns keeping the pace high, the course packed in many turns a flight of steps and even a bridge to test all of the racers.

With a lap remaining Hannah surged clear attacking the other riders for a fantastic victory, starting as she meant to go on and looking great in yellow for round 2 in Abergavenny!

A heavy week in gym, skills training and feasting on Clif builder bars in lectures is whats in store for Hannah! Until next time... #WEARECROSS
