My aim was to build a fast, stiff, light bike before I'm too fat and old to appreciate it. Something for club rides, for blasting and wheezing along Peak District back roads, which are rough and steep.
The Aithein disc has delivered what I wanted (with the right choice of tyres): stiff enough to accommodate out of the saddle climbs on the drops, and beautifully balanced through twisty descents. Like any good bike, its handling is intuitive and doesn't require thought or effort: it becomes a part of you.
The discs are always there to slow the whole lot down, regardless of speed or gradient (160 Spyre both ends).
And it's a nice blue colour :-) #MyKinesis
